The City of Henderson is offering a rebate of $575 for single-family residential homes within City limits that remove their functional turf to supplement Southern Nevada Water Authority’s (SNWA) Water Smart Landscapes rebates for Henderson residents.
To qualify, the the turf conversion must be a minimum of 400 square feet and be approved by SNWA for the Water Smart Landscapes program.
The City of Henderson is also accepting nominations for its Water Conservation Award through November 30, 2023, which honors Henderson residents and businesses that make significant contributions to water conservation within the community. Nominations will be reviewed and selected in early 2024. In 2023, Anthem Country Club was recognized for their turf conversion efforts, which saves 59,533,620 gallons of water per year.

“There is no better way to help conserve water in Henderson than converting grass to desert landscaping at your home,” said Director of Utility Services Priscilla Howell. “More than 60% of outdoor water cannot be recycled. It’s going to take all of us doing our part to preserve our most precious resource.”
