The City of Henderson announced it purchased the former Camping World property located at 1600 S. Boulder Highway for nearly $6 million to repurpose it into a new fire station.
Henderson Fire Station 81 will relocate from Horizon and College Drives to Boulder Highway near Racetrack Road.
Remodeling this existing property is quick and cheaper than constructing a new fire station from the ground up. In addition, the facility will include a cost-savings Henderson Fire Department logistics center warehouse.
The City will soon open the project for design-build competition. The anticipated opening for the new station is in 2025.
