FirstMed Health and Wellness Hosting Back-To-School Fair in Support of Local Students in Need

FirstMed Health and Wellness is hosting a free back-to-school fair on Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pearson Community Center in North Las Vegas, located at 1625 W Carey Ave. The event will also include free health care services for students and their families. Attendees will be able to get their blood pressure checked, receive a COVID-19 vaccine and required back-to-school immunizations, and speak to FirstMed professionals about their health care needs.

The event will include a backpack giveaway, featuring hundreds of backpacks stocked with a variety of school supplies for students of all ages, while supplies last.

Throughout the afternoon, students and their families will be able to participate in a wide range of activities, including face-painting, balloon art and a raffle for a chance to win fun prizes, including laptops, iPads and bikes.

“This year’s back-to-school fair is a great opportunity for us to help our patients in ways that go beyond their health care needs,” said Maricres Crisler, Sr. Director of Clinic Operations at FirstMed. Crisler is organizing this year’s event alongside Sheila Yaneza, FirstMed’s Director of Patient Services. “Our goal is to help alleviate some of the financial burdens experienced by our minority patients and low-income families in our community by providing students with school materials and resources that they will need heading into the 2023-2024 school year.”
