Grand Opening of REACH Community Health Center Takes Place in Las Vegas

Yesterday, Research Education and Access for Community Health (REACH) opened a new community health center called “Your Community Health Center” at 823 S. Las Vegas Boulevard, Suite 500. Special guests at the grand opening included Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar and Las Vegas Councilwoman Olivia Diaz. This new center came to fruition from collaborative efforts of others, including a $500,000 Community Investment Program grant from SilverSummit Healthplan.

For 12 years, the nonprofit organization has served Southern Nevada's minority populations through their various programs, including Ventanilla de Salud, La Ruta de la Saludand Salvando tu Salud, with an estimated reach of one out of three Latinos in Southern Nevada.

The health center provides access to primary medical services, including pediatrics and mental health, and specialties such as nephrology, gynecology, and cardiology. In addition, it offers community services such as a food bank, English classes, and educational workshops for all families.

To date, REACH Your Community Health Center has served over 2,000 patients at its Las Vegas Blvd. facility. It accepts most major insurance, in addition to its low-cost sliding scale program that starts at $20 and is available to anyone regardless of their immigration status.

"We are providing access to healthcare to everyone regardless of their origin. Barriers and needs are always present in our families and access to healthcare for all is a priority in our organization,” said Rebeca Aceves, president and CEO of REACH. “This is why we decided to create the REACH Community Health Center to provide hope and new opportunities for our residents to achieve their best health and state of being.”
