City of Henderson hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on the 7.5-mile Boulder Highway construction project, from Wagon Wheel Drive to Tulip Falls Drive. The overall goals of this project include increase corridor safety for all users, support multi-modal transportation options, spur development along the corridor, and conservation.

Boulder Highway was identified as a rapid transit corridor in 2002 and planning for the project began in 2006. The designs for Boulder Highway incorporated feedback from the public. Surveys in 2020 showed that 79% of the public agreed with the overall project concept. The plan will create center-running transit lanes with passenger shelters, upgrade storm drain system, new traffic signals, better lighting, and elevated buffered bike lanes.
The project will officially begin construction on August 19th.
