Las Vegas Rotary Club Hosts 28th Annual Santa Clothes Program on December 7
Las Vegas Rotary Club is hosting its 28th Annual Santa Clothes Program on December 7th at designated JC Penny stores in the Meadows Mall, Galleria Mall, and Grand Canyon Shopping Center. The event is aiming to help 415 at-rick children this year by providing essential items such as shoes, socks, and winter clothing during the holiday season.
Over 365 volunteers from various organizations will participate this year. Following the shopping experience, the kids will be treated to a sports day with student athletes from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and hear an inspiring speech from Dr. Keith Whitfield, president of UNLV.
The Santa Clothes program was formed in 1996 with 35 students participating. By 2022, it has assisted 6,736 children, providing nearly $1.8 million in clothes and necessities.
"Our commitment is to drive positive change locally and globally. Through these acts of generosity, we strive to make a significant impact on individuals and communities, which align with Rotary's core mission," said Toni Kern, Las Vegas Rotary Club President.
