U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen announced that Nevada will receive $55.2 million from the American Rescue Plan for broadband infrastructure and other digital connectivity technology projects. The funding will help 40,000 households in Nevada to have access to high-speed internet.
This funding will go toward Nevada’s Low-Income Multi-Dwelling Units Broadband Program, a competitive grant program designed to fund broadband infrastructure to low-income housing. Each of the internet service providers funded by the program will participate in the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program – a $30 per month subsidy for low-income families.
The American Rescue Plan established the $10 billion Capital Projects Fund to provide funding to states, territories, and Tribal governments across the country to invest in high-quality broadband as well as other connectivity infrastructure, devices, and equipment.
