This week, Portillo’s announced it is looking to enter Nevada, including the Las Vegas market for the first time as part of its long-term expansion plan to scale the brand.
Founded in 1963, Portillo’s is best known for its Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, fresh salads and famous chocolate cake. It currently operates 77 full-scale restaurants across 10 states and expects to open 8 new locations by the end of the year.
Earlier this year, the company opened its first location in Texas. And then it opened a second Texas location earlier this month. Two additional restaurants are under construction in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. By the end of 2025, the company is expected to have at least six restaurants open in the Houston market.
