Last Friday, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto joined Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada (NHSSN) to tour the nonprofit’s senior affordable housing development project located at 820 N. Eastern Ave.

Phase I of this project includes 60 units and will be available later this spring. NHSSN used multiple financing sources such as the Low Income Housing Tax Credit funding in Phase I. Phase II of the project will add 60 more units using the Home Means Nevada funding through the American Rescue Plan.

Each units includes a washer and dryer and the rents include utilities. NHSSN has available units at different locations that seniors can apply for now, including its Jefferson West Apartments located in the historic West Side.

NHSSN was founded in 1992 to enhance the lives of low-to-moderate-income individuals, families, and communities by providing affordable rental housing, down payment assistance, financial literacy, counseling, and homebuyer education.
