Yesterday, City of Las Vegas Councilman Cedric Crear presented proclamation in person to The Neon Museum’s executive director Aaron Berger to celebrate the museum's 10th anniversary. Its current campus in historic downtown Las Vegas opened on October 27th, 2012.

This Friday evening, The Neon Museum is hosting a special ticketed event at Jungle Palace, the private estate of former Las Vegas illusionists Siegfried & Ray. The event will honor the museum’s founding president, Barbara Molasky, for her dedication and contributions to establish the museum. Her efforts trace back to 1996, ultimately leading to the opening of the current museum campus in 2012 that has welcomed more than a million visitors over the last decade.

In addition, the museum is hosting a four-day event entitled Duck Duck Shed: Celebrating Las Vegas Architecture, Design, and Culture on October 27-30. The event will include walking tours and sessions with industry experts. To sign up for tours, lectures and other events, please visit www.duckduckshed.com.

“As a Las Vegas native, I applaud the Museum’s commitment to telling the stories of our city’s history – including those stories that might be lesser known, like the civil rights effort in Las Vegas or the unique cultural contributions of community members. These are important historical stories for us to celebrate and for people to hear, now and for generations to come. I congratulate the Museum on its 10-year anniversary and look forward to supporting its future endeavors,” said Councilman Cedric Crear.
