Inflation Reduction Act and What It Means for Nevada
The Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law by President Biden earlier this month. It provides historic investments in reducing climate pollution, accelerating the transition to clean energy, and advancing low- and zero-pollution transportation.
The new law will bring an estimated $2.7 billion of investment in large-scale clean power generation and storage to Nevada by 2030. According to an article published by Rhodium Group, an independent research firm, “Our preliminary estimate is that the IRA can cut US net greenhouse gas emissions down to 31% to 44% below 2005 levels in 2030—with a central estimate of 40% below 2005 levels—compared to 24% to 35% under current policy."

Nevada Launches NevadaBuilds.com Highlighting Infrastructure Investments
The State of Nevada and Governor Sisolak officially launched the website NevadaBuilds.com to highlight infrastructure investments coming to Nevada through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that was passed by Congress in November 2021. This act is the single largest long-term investment in America’s infrastructure in nearly a century.
The website highlights money Nevada is investing into infrastructure projects and the funding Nevada is intending on applying for future projects.
American Institute of Architects Las Vegas Hosts First Annual Women Building Nevada Symposium
The American Institute of Architects Las Vegas Chapter has announced its 1st Annual Women Building Nevada Symposium to be held on Friday, September 9th, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Blind Center of Nevada.
This symposium intends to celebrate, elevate, and acknowledge the women in our community that have and continue to make a difference through planning, design, development, construction, and the public sector.
